The Monteria is a type of driven hunt, typical of Spain. Quarry includes Red deer, Fallow Deer, Mouflon and Wild Boar. Foxes are usually included in the quarry list but are not considered the main target species.
Monterias are a very social event. Beginning with all guns and guests meeting for breakfast on the chosen estate. Guests are always welcome, and there is are no age restrictions.
A Spanish monteria is unlike any sort of big game shooting that you will experience in the UK and so is highly recommended by the Calpe Sporting team.
Ovis Aries Musimon
The European mouflon is a wild sheep species.Mouflons have a distinctive appearance with short, curved horns and a reddish-brown coat that fades to a lighter color on their underbelly. They have a white rump patch and a dark stripe along their back.

Sus Scrofa
Found across diverse habitats ranging from forests to farmlands, wild boars are highly adaptable and known for their strength, intelligence, and tenacity.They have a muscular build, with thick hides and sharp tusks.
Capra
Spain has four types of ibex the Gredos, South Eastern, Beceite and Ronda. They are well adapted to living in mountainous regions and are know to have excellent senses, making them a challenging quarry.
